I’m going back to Hong Kong again! On a cheap A380 flight and dirt cheap 5-star hotel to boot! Whoohooo! And free shopping guides (i.e. my mom’s friends)!
This is why I never go ‘fml’, because I love it.

Exercise will make you healthier, but won’t make you thin.
That explains why I stuff myself with food after I exercise. But then again, I do that whether or not I exercise. Hmm.

Bliss? Close enough. Looking at images of Lace‘s cooking endeavors I decided to go ahead and bake something too. It’s been a long while since I bothered to cook/bake (besides the occasional carbonara, yum) anyway, and I really didn’t want to realize that I’d forgotten how to a few years down the road!
Anyway, lo and behold – Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies. I’ve been in the mood for these lately, and was trying to find a recipe similar to Famous Amos’s, but couldn’t seem to get anywhere. The sites that claim to come close to it leave me unconvinced when I see the pictures. In the end I decided to play safe and use a recipe that seems quite popular among the people on the Allrecipes site.
I had to scour the house for chocolates since I had no baking chocolate chips at hand, so there’s an interesting mix of Cadbury pralines, Lotte chocolates, Australian Chocolate-Covered Macadamia nuts, and a few other random ones. There was just enough to make 2 cups, lucky me.
No regrets there! If you’re lucky you might get some from me, heheheheh. Now to get an ice cream maker.
In other news, your dominant hand actually affects you more than you think.

So one of the three places that I went to on my traveling spree last month was Hong Kong. The last time I went there was more than a decade ago – a territory in my mind that has been sealed and flung overboard, existing only under the deep waters it’s been submerged in.
Coming back again with my conscious mind at hand was fantastic, to say the least. When we landed we decided to take the Airport Express train out to the main train lines, so our Hong Kong trip started off in a very quiet cabin running through a tunnel. The moment sunlight penetrated the windows of the express I was in awe. The sea, the buildings, urban and suburban fused together in one landscape.
I won’t go into detail about trip, since I think if one were to visit a country for the first time it’s best to be pleasantly surprised than to find things that you’ve already read about in books and on the net. Also, I’m lazy. In a nutshell though, I’m definitely going back sometime soon. And I’m going to make sure I eat more this time.
(…not forgetting partners in crime Yanni and Jerrie (and wei!))

Imagine going about business on your computer/laptop as usual at night, drinking your green tea and just squinting and reading an article off the net, and then at the corner of your eye you see a humongous roach creep behind your keyboard – just a few centimeters away from your face.
Tonight was the closest I’ve ever come to a genuine scream, but still it wasn’t much of one. More of a constipated ‘ah…ahh wtf…?!?! (jumps off chair)’ than anything else.
In other news, my sexy mac currently sports a huge-ass dent. A very un-motivational start of the week it is. Haven’t had the time to update around here lately, will do so more often when everything settles down.
